Reading Buddies
Reading Buddies is a program that matches
volunteer high school students with children in grades 1-3 for a 1 hour
reading time once per week. Reading Buddies meets at the Avon Library,
Eagle Library, and Gypsum Library for 6-8 week sessions during the
school year. The 1 hour program includes a group activity, one on one
reading and reflection time, as well as games at the end of each
session. Reading buddies is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for high
school students and a great way to encourage younger children to love
reading.
